Any luck with the "new" Radio@AOL
« on: March 07, 2006, 05:33:27 »
Thomas,

Any luck with the XM incursion into Radio@AOL?  Just curious.

I think I will give Pandora a try. Does it work as well as the Radio@AOL?

Thanks.

Thomas,

I tried Pandora and I think that the recording quality is good. The songs are stored in a folder called Pandora so there is no ability to really separate the different genre.  I am not sure if I like the all the songs that are generated with my selections but I think that is part of the evolution of the "genome project".

Sal,

Yes, you're right, it's probably part of the "genome project" ;-) . Anyway, you could assign different folders to different stations. It's only that AOMrecord can't decide by itself which one to use.

I have added some more similar artists and songs to each station I created and the result is getting better all the time.

But I'm in no way affiliated with Pandora ;-) .

I will play around with it a bit more.  By the way, I have sent multiple e-mails to AOL complaining about the XM incursion.  Unfortunately it is like a rock falling on the moon...nobody can hear it....

I am howver able to listen to the old AOL radio format with my D-Link media adapter attached to my stereo. I cannot record it but at least I can hear the stations.
