No more AOL Music Now...gone to Napster
« on: March 19, 2007, 05:19:49 »
Thomas,

I had accidently discovered that when using AOLMusicNow (fee for music service) that if I saved the "play" link to the desktop , it would open up in Windows Media Player instead of the proprietary aplet window. I could then record with AOMRecord. I was able to actually select my songs/albums and record them.

I paid for the subscription in order to listen to the songs but I was able to record them for future paly.

Unfortunately, Napster has taken over and I cannot do the same thing by opening in Windows Media Player.

I just thought I would share this with you.

Sal

Sal,

Thanks for this information. But I gues not too many users are involved, because most of them use other providers like AOL Radio or Yahoo Radio.

I had disconvered something quite useful. I could pick the songs to record as opposed to recording the "radio" streams.

Thank you for this nice software.

Hm, I understand. So, that makes it quite annoying. But there are other stations that offer similar features. Let us know if you find something comparable.
